Mike White is an award-winning writer, director, actor and producer who wrote and created HBO’s The White Lotus, now in its a third season. The show and White have received positive critical acclaim having won two Golden Globes, one Writers Guild of America Award, and six Primetime Emmy Awards.
His writing credits range from the indie black comedies Chuck and Buck, The Good Girl, Year of the Dog and Beatriz at Dinner to mainstream comedy hits such as School of Rock, Orange County, Nacho Libre and Pitch Perfect 3. Additional film credits include Brad’s Status starring Ben Stiller and Michael Sheen, which White wrote and directed, and The One and Only Ivan starring Bryan Cranston and Angelina Jolie.
His past TV credits include the short-lived but beloved Freaks and Geeks and Pasadena. White also created and co-starred with Laura Dern in the critically acclaimed HBO series Enlightened, writing all episodes (and directing several) for the Golden Globe-winning show.
Most recently, in addition to his work on White Lotus, White wrote Migration and Despicable Me 4 for Illumination and Universal.
Along with appearing in many of his films, White is known for twice competing in the Emmy-winning The Amazing Race with his father Mel, as well as Survivor: David vs Goliath.
